 Introduced  by  Sen. ADDABBO -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Environmental Conservation
 
 AN ACT to amend the  environmental  conservation  law,  in  relation  to
   authorizing the installation of surveillance cameras
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 27-0107 of the environmental  conservation  law  is
 amended by adding a new subdivision 1-a to read as follows:
   1-A.  LOCAL  ENFORCEMENT.  ANY  MUNICIPAL AGENCY HAVING AUTHORITY OVER
 LOCAL SANITIZATION OR WASTE MANAGEMENT MAY INSTALL SURVEILLANCE  CAMERAS
 AND  REVIEW  SUCH  CAMERA  FOOTAGE TO HELP IDENTIFY INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE
 ENGAGED IN ILLEGAL DUMPING.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
