S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 1162 2021-2022 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y January 7, 2021 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. QUART -- read once and referred to the Committee on Correction AN ACT to amend the correction law, in relation to amending the term residential treatment facility; and to repeal subdivision 10 of section 73 of the correction law relating thereto THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subdivision 6 of section 2 of the correction law, as amended by chapter 476 of the laws of 1970, is amended to read as follows: 6. "Residential treatment facility". A correctional facility consist- ing of a community based residence in or near a community where employ- ment, educational and training opportunities are readily available for persons who [are on parole or conditional release and for persons who] are or who will soon be eligible for release on parole who intend to reside in or near that community when released. § 2. Subdivision 10 of section 73 of the correction law is REPEALED. § 3. This act shall take effect on the thirtieth day after it shall have become a law.
