2021-A6209 (ACTIVE) - Summary

Requires the commissioner of health to establish at least one state-operated COVID-19 vaccination site in counties outside of the city of New York with a population of at least 300,000; provides that such site shall be open and operational with hours of operation, staffing levels and other resources necessary to ensure that such site operates in a substantially similar manner to other state-operated COVID-19 vaccination sites.

 AN ACT in relation to requiring the commissioner of health to  establish
   at least one state-operated COVID-19 vaccination site in certain coun-
   ties outside of the city of New York

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Within 30 days of the  effective  date  of  this  act,  the
 commissioner  of  health  shall create and implement a program to ensure
 that in counties with a population of at least  300,000,  determined  in
 accordance with the latest decennial federal census, and located outside
 of  a city with a population of one million or more, at least one state-
 operated COVID-19 vaccination site is open and operational with hours of
 operation, staffing levels and any other resources necessary  to  ensure
 that  such  site  operates  in  a  substantially similar manner to other
 state-operated COVID-19 vaccination sites currently in operation.
   ยง 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
