S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 10307 I N A S S E M B L Y May 17, 2024 ___________ Introduced by COMMITTEE ON RULES -- (at request of M. of A. Gray) -- read once and referred to the Committee on Codes AN ACT to amend the penal law, in relation to allowing certain firearm licensees to open carry THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Paragraph (f) of subdivision 2 of section 400.00 of the penal law, as amended by chapter 371 of the laws of 2022, is amended to read as follows: (f) have and POSSESS, AND carry OPENLY OR concealed, without regard to employment or place of possession subject to the restrictions of state and federal law, by any person; and § 2. This act shall take effect on the first of November next succeed- ing the date on which it shall have become a law. Effective immediately, the addition, amendment and/or repeal of any rule or regulation neces- sary for the implementation of this act on its effective date are authorized to be made and completed on or before such effective date.
