SANTABARBARA -- read once and referred to the Committee on Consumer Affairs and Protection AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to requiring all flags sold in the state of New York be one hundred percent manufac- tured in the United States THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The general business law is amended by adding a new section 396-hhh to read as follows: § 396-HHH. SALE OF FLAGS. ONLY FLAGS THAT ARE ONE HUNDRED PERCENT MANUFACTURED IN THE UNITED STATES, FROM ARTICLES, MATERIALS, OR SUPPLIES, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF WHICH ARE GROWN, PRODUCED OR MANUFAC- TURED IN THE UNITED STATES, MAY BE SOLD IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK. FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SECTION, THE TERM "FLAG" SHALL MEAN THE FLAG OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE FLAG OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK. § 2. This act shall take effect on the ninetieth day after it shall have become a law. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD02455-01-3
