S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 4735 2023-2024 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y February 23, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. MCGOWAN -- read once and referred to the Commit- tee on Transportation AN ACT to authorize a study on proposed improvements of state route 303 in the town of Orangetown, county of Rockland; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon expiration thereof THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. The department of transportation is hereby authorized and directed to conduct a study on proposed improvements of state route 303 in the town of Orangetown, county of Rockland. 1. Such study shall address issues, including, but not limited to: (a) The estimated total cost of new barrier installation; (b) The estimated total cost of left-turn lanes; (c) The impact of adjusting the timing of traffic lights and traffic calming measures; (d) The estimated duration of the project; (e) The impact construction will have on local traffic patterns; (f) The environmental impact of the project, represented in an envi- ronmental impact statement, if such statement is required by law, or is deemed warranted according to the discretion of the department of trans- portation; and (g) Identify areas for cooperation between agencies who have purview over this project and/or relevant properties and solicit and incorporate input from such agencies. 2. The department of transportation shall report such findings to the governor and the legislature within one year after the effective date of this act. ยง 2. This act shall take effect immediately and shall expire one year after it shall have become a law when upon such date the provisions of this act shall be deemed repealed.
