S T A T E O F N E W Y O R K ________________________________________________________________________ 5016 2023-2024 Regular Sessions I N A S S E M B L Y February 27, 2023 ___________ Introduced by M. of A. SANTABARBARA -- read once and referred to the Committee on People with Disabilities AN ACT to amend the mental hygiene law, in relation to adding spina bifida to the definition of developmental disability THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM- BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. Subparagraph 1 of paragraph (a) of subdivision 22 of section 1.03 of the mental hygiene law, as amended by chapter 114 of the laws of 2017, is amended to read as follows: (1) is attributable to intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, neurological impairment, familial dysautonomia, Prader-Willi syndrome, SPINA BIFIDA or autism; § 2. This act shall take effect immediately. EXPLANATION--Matter in ITALICS (underscored) is new; matter in brackets [ ] is old law to be omitted. LBD09133-01-3
