 Introduced  by  Sens.  BAILEY, ADDABBO, MYRIE, PERSAUD -- read twice and
   ordered printed, and when printed to be committed to the Committee  on
   Health
 
 AN  ACT  to  amend  the  public  health  law,  in  relation to requiring
   inspections for Legionnaires' disease in certain locations

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1. Article 21 of the public health law is amended by adding a
 new title 9 to read as follows:
                                 TITLE IX
                           LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE
 SECTION 2190. LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE; DEFINITIONS.
         2191. LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE; INSPECTIONS.
   § 2190. LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE; DEFINITIONS. FOR THE PURPOSES  OF  THIS
 TITLE,  THE  TERM  "LOCATION"  SHALL  MEAN ANY ENCLOSED OR OUTDOOR SPACE
 WHICH COULD BE SUSCEPTIBLE TO LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE INCLUDING,  BUT  NOT
 LIMITED  TO,  APARTMENT  COMPLEXES, APARTMENT BUILDINGS, SENIOR CENTERS,
 MULTI-UNIT LIVING COMMUNITIES, BUILDINGS  OR  FACILITIES,  BATHS,  SPAS,
 RESTROOMS, RESTAURANTS, AND GROCERY STORES.
   § 2191. LEGIONNAIRES'  DISEASE;  INSPECTIONS.  EACH LOCATION WHICH THE
 COMMISSIONER DETERMINES IS SUSCEPTIBLE TO  LEGIONNAIRES'  DISEASE  SHALL
 SUBMIT  TO  AN  ANNUAL  INSPECTION BY THE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PRESENCE OF
 LEGIONNAIRES' DISEASE.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
