 AN ACT to amend the judiciary law, in relation to removing the  lifetime
   ban  on  jury  duty  for  convicted  felons  who  have completed their
   sentencing

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  Subdivision  3  of  section  510 of the judiciary law, as
 amended by chapter 86 of the  laws  of  1995,  is  amended  to  read  as
 follows:
   3.  [Not  have  been]  IF  convicted  of  a felony, HAVE COMPLETED ANY
 SENTENCING RELATED TO SUCH CONVICTION, INCLUDING ANY PERIOD OF PROBATION
 OR COMMUNITY SUPERVISION.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

 AN  ACT to amend the judiciary law, in relation to removing the lifetime
   ban  on  jury  duty  for  convicted  felons;  and  to  repeal  certain
   provisions of such law related thereto
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 3 of  section  510  of  the  judiciary  law  is
 REPEALED.
   §  2.  Section  517  of  the  judiciary law is amended by adding a new
 subdivision (d) to read as follows:
   (D) THE JURY SERVICE OF ANY PERSON SERVING A TERM OF INCARCERATION FOR
 A FELONY CONVICTION SHALL BE POSTPONED WHILE THE PERSON IS  INCARCERATED
 FOR SUCH FELONY.
   § 3. This act shall take effect immediately.

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Subdivision 3 of section  510  of  the  judiciary  law,  as
 amended  by  chapter  86  of  the  laws  of  1995, is amended to read as
 follows:

   FOR THE PURPOSES OF THIS SUBDIVISION,  "COMMUNITY  SUPERVISION"  SHALL
 HAVE  THE SAME MEANING AS SUCH TERM IS DEFINED IN SUBDIVISION THIRTY-ONE
 OF SECTION TWO OF THE CORRECTION LAW.
   § 2. This act shall take effect on the one hundred eightieth day after
 it shall have become a law.
