 Introduced  by  Sen. JACKSON -- read twice and ordered printed, and when
   printed to be committed to the Committee on Elections
 
 AN ACT to amend the election law, in relation  to  prohibiting  a  court
   from bifurcating certain primary elections
 
   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 8-100 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
 new subdivision 5 to read as follows:
   5.  NO  COURT  SHALL  ISSUE  AN  ORDER  CHANGING THE DATE OF A PRIMARY
 ELECTION WHICH BIFURCATES THE OFFICES AND POSITIONS TO  BE  ELECTED  AND
 NOMINATIONS  TO BE MADE AS PART OF THE SAME PRIMARY ELECTION PURSUANT TO
 PARAGRAPH (A) OF SUBDIVISION ONE OF THIS SECTION. ANY  ORDER  ISSUED  IN
 VIOLATION  OF  THIS SUBDIVISION SHALL HAVE NO EFFECT AND SHALL BE DEEMED
 NULL AND VOID.
   § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

   THE  PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section 1. Section 8-100 of the election law is amended  by  adding  a
