 AN  ACT  to  establish a temporary state commission to rename the Robert
   Moses State Park; and providing for the repeal of such provisions upon
   expiration thereof

   THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF NEW YORK, REPRESENTED IN SENATE AND  ASSEM-
 BLY, DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
 
   Section  1.  The  commissioner  of the New York state office of parks,
 recreation and historic preservation is hereby authorized  to  create  a
 temporary  state commission, hereafter referred to as the commission, to
 rename the Robert Moses State Park located in Long Island.  Such commis-
 sion shall choose a name that  clearly  reflects  the  history  of  Long
 Island.
   § 2. (a) The commission shall consist of nine members, to be appointed
 as follows: three members to be appointed by the commissioner of the New
 York  state  office  of parks, recreation and historic preservation; one
 member to be appointed by the temporary president  of  the  senate;  one
 member  to be appointed by the speaker of the assembly; one member to be
 appointed by the minority  leader  of  the  senate;  one  member  to  be
 appointed  by  the  minority  leader  of  the assembly; one member to be
 appointed by  the  Suffolk  county  executive;  and  one  member  to  be
 appointed by the governor. Vacancies in the membership of the commission
 and  among  its  officers  shall  be  filled  in the manner provided for
 original appointments or designations. Such appointments shall  be  made
 within six months of the effective date of this act.
   (b)  The  members  of the commission shall receive no compensation for
 their services, but shall be allowed their actual and necessary expenses
 incurred in the performance of their duties under this act.
   (c) All departments or agencies of the state or  subdivisions  thereof
 shall,  at  the  request  of  the  commission,  provide such facilities,
