Limitation as to amount of money to be raised; special provision in New York city
General Municipal (GMU) CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 5
§ 83. Limitation as to amount of money to be raised; special provision
in New York city. No restriction or limitation imposed by law as to the
sum to be raised in any year in any city or village shall apply to the
moneys to be raised for the purposes specified in the last preceding
section; but the said moneys shall be raised in addition to any sum so
restricted or limited.
In the city of New York the powers and duties devolved upon the common
council of a city by section eighty-two of this chapter shall be
exercised by the board of estimate and apportionment.
