Senator Brian X. Foley (D – Blue Point) honored the Central Islip High School Mock Trial team – known as the Legal Eagles – on their outstanding accomplishments during the New York State Bar Association’s annual Mock Trial tournament. The Legal Eagles competed against schools throughout Suffolk County and earned first place during the county-wide tournament. They proceeded to go all the way to the regionals where they came in second place.
“These accomplished Central Islip students are an inspiration to all of us,” said Foley, who serves on the Senate Education Committee. “As their state senator, I am grateful to the Central Islip Legal Eagles for representing our community in a positive light. I am confident these young leaders will continue to make us proud for years to come.”
Foley was joined by Central Islip Schools administration officials, teachers, and family members as he presented New York State Senate proclamations to each member of the Legal Eagles, as well as their coach Mr. Robert Mitchell.
