For the better part of a week or two, Ospreys could be seen flying from their LIPA nest to the Centre Island pole that residents raised in hopes of keeping the osprey safe. Apparently trying to decide which was better, and if the alternate location merited the effort of creating a new nest from scratch. Back and forth they went. Finally a decision was made. The straw started accumulating on the pole behind the police station, and the first nest was abandoned This is the nest seen in the photo.
