Senator Fuschillo reads to Old Mill Road Elementary School kindergarten class

State Senator Charles J. Fuschillo, Jr. (8th Senate District) recently visited Old Mill Road Elementary School in North Merrick to serve as a guest reader to Mrs. Levitt’s and Mrs. Ward’s kindergarten class.

Senator Fuschillo read “House Mouse, Senate Mouse” by Peter and Cheryl Barnes to the students. The story allowed the children to learn in a fun way what Senator Fuschillo’s job is and how laws are made.

Afterwards, Senator Fuschillo listened to the students’ ideas for new laws.

“Having adults from the community read to students shows them that reading is an important skill for both children and adults. I really enjoyed reading to the children, watching how much they enjoyed the story, and hearing their ideas for new laws,” said Senator Fuschillo.
