As a resident and a representative of Carroll Gardens, I continue to support a comprehensive, contextual rezoning of the entire community, from the Gowanus Canal to the water.
I testified in favor of many elements of the current rezoning proposal, including fifty-foot height limits to preserve the character of our community and targeted commercial overlays that will protect residential side streets. I also expressed some concerns, like height limits and density that seem too tall for portions of Clinton and Henry Streets, as well as President Street and First Place.
