On Sunday August 16th, Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) was on-hand at Fort Totten for Family Support Day. The event was for troops and family members of 237th Maintenance Battalion stationed at Fort Totten in Bayside. The 237th Battalion Unit was instrumental in 9/11 related efforts and have served in both Afghanistan and Iraq. The event included a full BBQ and entertainment throughout the afternoon. During the event, Boy Scout Kevin Wong was recognized for his successful troop care package drive which has helped provide troop serving overseas with the comfort of home. Senator Padavan’s Bellerose District served as a drop-off and collection point for the care package drive. BELOW: Col. Gail Owen, Command Sgt.
