Kupferberg Center Officially Opens At QCC

New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) joined with Queensborough Community College officials, Holocaust survivors and fellow community leaders for the official grand opening and ribbon cutting of the Harriet and Kenneth Kupferberg Holocaust Resource Center and Archives. The 9,000 square foot facility located on the QCC campus will serve as an educational and research center and will honor and remember victims of the Holocaust. Senator Padavan secured $3 million for the Center in the 2004-05 State Budget which was instrumental in the construction of the new facility. The new Center allows for expanded classes and increased library and exhibit space. The Kupferberg Center works with schools throughout the state to develop curriculums to study the Holocaust and other acts of genocide.
