On Saturday morning March 7, New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) joined with community leaders, members of the Bay Terrace Community Alliance Inc, Friends of Fort Totten Park and concerned residents to protest the removal of the security guard service located at the gate of Fort Totten. Padavan and community members stressed their concern that the removal of the security guard service at the front gate will increase the potential for vandalism and burglary of the historic buildings in the Fort Totten complex and surrounding neighborhoods.
