Padavan Helps Cut Ribbon For New Playground at PS 79

On Monday morning June 15th, New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) joined with students, teachers and parents from PS 79 The Francis Lewis School in Whitestone for a ribbon cutting ceremony for their new playground. The ceremony featured students from all grade levels leading the crowd in patriotic songs including God Bless the USA and You’re A Grand Old Flag. The new playground was made possible through the Schoolyards to Playgrounds Initiative Plan NYC which is a partnership between the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation, the Department of Education and the Trust for Public Land. Senator Padavan congratulates Dr. Marron, Principal of PS 79 following the cutting of the ribbon marking the opening of the new playground at The Francis Lewis School in Whitestone
