Padavan Honors New Eagle Scouts in Flushing

State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) honored a pair of new Eagle Scouts from Troop 1 during a Court of Honor ceremony at Temple Beth Sholom in Flushing on Saturday February 7, 2009. Padavan presented the pair of young leaders with the New York State Senate Medal of Achievement and a Certificate of Merit in recognition of their accomplishments. Two years ago, Padavan was named as an honorary member of Troop 1, joining New York Yankee and baseball legend Babe Ruth as the only two individuals to be bestowed with the honor. Senator Padavan joins with (left to right) James Shannon, New Eagle Scout James Shannon Jr., Nancy Shannon, Troop 1 Scoutmaster Jack Baer, Wendy Lam, New Eagle Scout Ken Chan and Sin Chiu Chan following Troop 1’s Court of Honor ceremony on Saturday afternoon February 7, 2008.
