CAPITOL STUDENTS--The League of Women Voters of New York State recently held its 9th Annual "Students Inside Albany" conference at the capital. Select high school students from across New York spend several days in Albany to gain a firsthand look at state government and politics.
State Senator George Winner (R-C-I, Elmira) welcomed several students from his legislative district this year, including Watkins Glen High School seniors Caroline Likoudis, left, and Vanessa Tran, who met with the senator on the floor of the Senate Chamber.
“I’m grateful to the League of Women Voters for providing these students with a unique opportunity to participate in New York government,” said Senator Winner. “It’s enormously important to do everything we can to help instill a strong sense of public service among our young people and future leaders.”
