Senator Alesi Protecting Child Safety
James S. Alesi
December 21, 2009
For several years now, Senator Alesi has sponsored numerous bills that tackle the issue of removing dangerous toxins from toys, novelty products, costume jewelry, candy, and drinking water.
Toxins such as chromated copper arsenate (CCA), lead, phthalates, and bisphenol-A (BPA) have been found in playgrounds and in many common products such as toys, pacifiers, and baby bottles.
“The neurological damage caused by the exposure to these chemicals cannot be reversed, and in many cases can cause lasting damage during a child’s critical stages of development,” Senator Alesi states. “As your Senator, I will continue to protect children from these harmful products.”
