BONACIC SEEKS NOMINATIONS FOR WOMEN OF DISTINCTION AWARD

State Senator John J. Bonacic (R/I/C – Mt. Hope), today announced that nominations are being sought for the Senate’s 12^th Annual Women of Distinction Awards.  Nominations are due by May 28, 2009 and can be faxed to the Senator’s office (845) 344-3328.

              In celebration of Women’s History Month, the Senate is once again sponsoring the New York State Senate’s Women of Distinction program, which honors exceptional achievement, and personal excellence.

             The awards, which will be given in Albany on June 10 at the State Capitol, will honor women who have outstanding community achievements.  Those achievements can be in the area of community service, business, education, or healthcare and non-profit work.

             Many of the previous honorees have volunteered extensively in the fields of healthcare and youth services.
