Senator LaValle Supports "Say No To Drugs" Community Awareness Program
Kenneth P. LaValle
June 8, 2009
The rain may have put a damper on the annual Riverhead Community Awareness Program (CAP) “Just Say No” to drugs parade, but nothing could dampen the spirit at the Pulaski Elementary School. Students spent the morning of June 5 hearing community leaders and Riverhead’s very own Rutgers Trophy winning Blue Waves Varsity Football team encourage them to Say No to Drugs. The annual program teaches students to recognize peer pressure, build self-esteem, and equip them to make positive choices now and into adulthood. Senator LaValle was honored to speak with the children about the seriousness of drug and alcohol use and abuse.
