Scipio - Senator Mike Nozzolio recently participated in a ceremony to honor the memory of Private Frederick Van Liew, a Revolutionary War Patriot who settled in Cayuga county. Private Van Liew's grave in Scipio's Cornwall cemetery was given a new marker to honor his service to his country.
Pictured at the dedication of the marker with Senator Nozzolio are: Judy Boedicker, Susanne Schumacher, Joan Panek, and Alice Conley, all descendants of Private Van Liew: and Marion Maniscalco, Sandra Stoker Gilliland, and Barbara Reese, representatives of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
