Senator Owen H. Johnson secured a $50,000 grant for the North Babylon Public Library for the installation of 70 solar panels that are being placed on the roof of the library. An additional grant in the collective amount of $12,000 was also provided by Assemblyman Robert Sweeney (11th Assembly District), Assemblyman Phillip Boyle ( 8th Assembly District), and Assemblyman Andy Raia (9th Assembly District). It is expected that these 70 solar panels should generate enough electricity to power the entire library throughout the year.
