REMEMBERING 9/11
Stephen M. Saland
September 9, 2009
Our nation will not forget the tragedy that rocked the world on September 11, 2001. I can think of no other single event in my lifetime that evoked the response we witnessed after 9/11. Millions were donated to the Red Cross effort in a matter of days. Thousands of volunteers descended upon the sites where tragedy had struck. Flags adorned our homes, businesses and vehicles. Our nation pulled together in a time of crisis.
Today, eight years later, the emotions remain vividly painful when recalling the devastation terrorism inflicted on our nation.
Reflecting on the events of the 9/11 terrorist attack on our nation, we remember the victims, their families and the many heroes who rushed to save lives with little regard for their own safety. God bless them all.
