Members of the Dee Victor Thomas Unit 1155 of the Fillmore American Legion Auxiliary gathered at the Minard Park Gazebo recently to recognize four members of their unit for 25 years of continuous service. The four honorees included: Betty Luckey, who continues to attend every Assocation meeting and has served as finance officer since 1986; Margaret Mills, who joined because her husband was a member of the America legion and now serves in a leadership position on the Girls State Committee; Ruth Bennett, who was the Unit President early in her membership, and continues to pay dues and support veterans by lighting a votive candle in church to pray for our troops; and Leora Ferguson, who was the Unit President for four years, served as Membership Chair for a term, and served as Chaplain.
