Help For Haiti
Eric T. Schneiderman
January 14, 2010
The devastation in Haiti is heartbreaking beyond words.
I am proud that our national government is moving quickly to provide assistance, but at a time of such incomprehensible loss we all have an individual responsibility, as well as a collective one, to contribute to the relief effort.
As New Yorkers, we feel an acute connection to Haiti through our Haitian American friends and neighbors. And, as New Yorkers, we cannot forget how we benefited from a global outpouring of compassion and support not so long ago in our own time of tragedy. I know we will rise to the occasion and do what we can now to help save lives and rebuild Haiti.
Please join me in offering personal assistance to the people of Haiti by donating what you can to any of the fine groups below that are currently working to provide aid and relief to the devastated communities of Haiti.
