New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) attended the 50th Anniversary celebration of Francis Lewis High School in Fresh Meadows on Saturday May 15, 2010. The event featured a BBQ, carnival, Battle of The Bands, and Marching Bands. Opened in 1960, Francis Lewis High School serves the northeast and central portions of Queens. The school has consistently ranked among the top ten high schools in the city and is currently is the largest non-specialized school and is one of the most culturally diverse schools in the city with 66 different languages and nationalities represented. Senator Padavan presents Senate Resolution to Francis Lewis HS Principal Musa Shama to mark the 50th Anniversary of the school.
