Padavan Welcomes A Pair of Local West Point Cadets At Capitol

On Wednesday April 28, New York State Senator Frank Padavan (Queens) a retired colonel and 30-year veteran of the United State Army Corp of Engineers, met with Cadet Rachel Kim and Cadet Hemanth Nalamothu during West Point Day at the State Capitol. Cadet Kim, a member of the Class of 2013 is from Whitestone and Cadet Nalamothu, a member of the Class of 2011 is from Bayside. This was Nalamothu’s second visit to the Capitol for West Point Day. Both Cadets were recognized on the floor of the State Senate during a special portion of the legislative session. West Point Day is an annual tradition in the State Legislature that honors the service of the Cadets and the important role the storied institution plays in New York State and the nation.
