This rebate program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), is available to residential consumers replacing existing appliances of the same type with new ENERGY STAR® qualified appliances or High Efficiency ENERGY STAR appliances. This program begins Feb 12th and runs through Feb 21st. A larger rebate will be granted to consumers who recycle their discarded appliances.

Senator George Maziarz (R-C, Newfane), Chairman of the Senate Energy Committee, said, “Offering an incentive to buy energy-efficient appliances not only provides a shot-in-the-arm to the economy, but it helps consumers achieve long-term cost savings in the home. Having a few extra dollars can sometimes make all the difference in a household budget.”
