Senator George Maziarz, Chairman of the Senate Energy and Telecommunications, spoke at the “S.O.S. (Save Our State) Gas Rally” in Albany on June 9, 2010.
Hundreds of members of the Joint Landowner’s Coalition of NY gathered at the Capitol to show their support for developing Upstate New York’s natural gas industry and promoting economic development. They were joined by members of Unshackle Upstate and various building trades.
Senator Maziarz spoke about the need to protect landowner interests by opposing a moratorium on drilling in the Marcellus Shale. The process can be done safely, he said, while creating good-paying jobs in the meantime.
