New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA), along with the Music Educators' National Conference (MENC) is celebrating March as Music in Schools Month. As part of this celebration, area schools are giving special performances at the Empire State Plaza in Albany. Local schools that are performing this month include: Fonda-Fultonville High School Select Chorus, Northville Central School Senior High Band, Van Antwerp Middle School Chamber Strings, and the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus.
On March 29th, the Dorothy Nolan Elementary School Fourth and Fifth Grade Chorus from the Saratoga Springs City Schools, under the direction of Deborah Craig and Mary Rocco, performed for Assemblyman Jim Tedisco and Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) at the Empire State Plaza as part of the NYSSMA Music in the Schools Month celebration.
