NEW YORK- On Friday, March 5th, Senator Jeff Klein (D-Bronx/Westchester) presented a $100,000 grant to the Pelham Picture House. The money will be used for a major renovation project including installing new seats, lighting and new bathrooms as well as building an additional theater and film education institute. Klein presented the grant at the Pelham Picture House during its renovation celebration, “Celebrate a Classic.” The Pelham Picture house opened in 1921 and continues to operate as a non-profit movie theater currently seating 400 people. Last fall, Klein gave the picture house an additional 100K grant also to be used for the project.
