Senator Shirley L. Huntley,(D 10-Jamaica)and Assemblywoman Audrey I. Pheffer (D 23rd-Far Rockaway) greet parents, students and faculty from Publci School 47Q
Education and the safety of schools has consistently been one of the main priorities for Senator Shirley L. Huntley in her community. Recently she allocated resources to Public School 47Q so they could fix their roof and purchase new computers. The money was given to P.S. 47Q due to the fact that the children needed new computers to help them learn current and new curriculum. Technology plays a vital role in the global economy, and our children should be educated on how to fully harness all technical capabilities. Likewise, the roof repair of P.S. 47Q was critical to ensure the safety and sound school foundation for current and future students. One of the reasons Senator Huntley had a vested interest in helping repair the roof is her belief that classroom learning and other events occurring at the school should not be interrupted or endangered due to problems with the roof. Senator Shirley L. Huntley continually strives to ensure the schools in her community have the best possible books, technological equipment, and safety measures so that our children can receive the best possible education.
