Senator Betty Little talks about the strength of New York's tourism industry and the importance of state support for promotion programs that are proven economic growth drivers. Little was introduced to the group by Jim McKenna of the Lake Placid Community Visitors Board. Little is chair of the Senate Cultural Affairs, Tourism, Parks and Recreation Committee.
Tourism generates approximately $17 billion in direct revenue for the upstate economy and contributes $6.2 billion in state and local taxes.
