September 20, 2011
Senator Young helped kick off the opening ceremonies for the seventh annual Cuba Garlic Festival with help from Curt Crandall (far right), Chairman of the Allegany Board of Legislators. Bill and JoAnn Farrell (both in costume holding staffs), who have lived in Cuba for more than 40 years, were named the King & Queen to preside over this year's festival. Gabby Dutton and Joe Hughes also donned garlic costumes to show their support for the spirit of the festival. The two day festival featured all things garlic with vendors and visitors from all over the region and beyond.
