We need a specific plan in the event of an earthquake at Indian Point

In light of the horrific recent earthquake and tsunami that caused the Fukushima nuclear power plant in Japan to have explosions and cooling failures, I have called on Indian Point to make all safety reports available to the public as well as their earthquake contingency plan.
According to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Indian Point has the highest risk of earthquake damage in the country.
Indian Point provides 12 percent of all power generated statewide, but has long been a concern to residents in our area. Given the recent tragedy in Japan, and the fact that Indian Point sits within two miles of two intersecting fault lines, we need to ensure that all possible safety measures are in place in the event of an emergency.
I have been working with energy suppliers and other government officials to find a solution that is safer for our community and our environment, but until that solution is found we must hold Indian Point to the highest of safety standards. For the safety of our residents I request that Indian Point produce an earthquake contingency plan immediately that is made readily accessible to the public.
