State Senator Hugh T. Farley (R, C, I - Schenectady) toured the new George E. Franchere Education Center at the Mabee Farm, Rotterdam Junction, on Oct. 7th. The 13,000 square-foot building is "green," meaning it is energy efficient with 100 solar panels and is environmentally friendly. The cost of the project was some $2 million and Senator Farley was able to obtain two grants totaling $100,000 for it. For more information on the George E.
