Bayport, NY – State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I-Shirley), along with 7 other Long Island Republican State Senators, recently held a news conference to pressure the State Assembly Democratic Majority into acting on property tax cap legislation that passed the Senate earlier this year. The Long Island Senators were joined by Bayport residents, Richard and Joanne Curley, whose property taxes have increased 16.2% to $11,033 in the past three years.
More than 18,000 taxpayers have signed the Senate Republicans’ PassTheTaxCap.Com petition urging the Assembly to join the Senate and pass the Governor’s property tax cap bill.
