Senator Lee Zeldin Honors Local Community Leaders at Hispanic Heritage Ceremony

Hauppauge, N.Y. – In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) hosted his first annual Hispanic Heritage Ceremony this past Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the New York State Office Building in Hauppauge.
Senator Zeldin (above center) honored five local Hispanic leaders from the 3rd Senate District for their many achievements and contributions to the community.
The honorees are pictured here with Senator Zeldin (from left to right): local business owner, Jose Zelaya, Gilda Ramos of the Patchogue-Medford Library, Miriam Garcia, Executive Director of Adelante of Suffolk County, Inc., Vivian Hart, Executive Director of Pronto of Long Island, Louis A. Medina, Director of the Suffolk County Youth Bureau, and the evening’s keynote speaker, Consulate General of El Salvador Dagoberto A. Torres Peña.
