Garden City, NY- State Senator Lee M. Zeldin (R, C, I- Shirley) attended a public hearing today on Mandate Relief and the creation of a Real Property Tax Cap. Long Island Senators John Flanagan (R, C, I- East Northport) and Jack Martins (R,C, I-Mineola) hosted this joint committee hearing in Nassau County, NY, and invited Zeldin (above, right) to participate on the panel. This hearing focused on the policies and mechanisms that can be used to accomplish the two goals of Mandate Relief and a Real Property Tax Cap, as well as their impact on taxpayers, local governments, school districts, labor, businesses and jobs.
