Distributing Thanksgiving Meals to Needy Families in Yonkers

The Governor's office and the office of State Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins distributed more than one hundred free Thanksgiving meals to needy families in Yonkers on Wednesday before Thanksgiving.
Governor Cuomo's office donated the turkey meals and the Senator's office reached out to the Nepperhan Community Center to receive them and act as a distribution point for other agencies serving the needy. This morning, the National Guard delivered the Thanksgiving meals n Yonkers. Each included a 12 lb turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans, bread and gravy, and will serve up to 10 people. In addition to the Nepperhan Community Center, The Yonkers YWCA, St. Peters Church, Yonkers Community Action Program, and Family Services Society of Yonkers received Thanksgiving meals for distribution today.
"This is a time to be thankful for our blessings and extend a helping hand to those most in need," said Senator Andrea Stewart-Cousins (D/I/WF - 35th District). "These meals will bring joy to more than one hundred families and friends in the Yonkers community. With the help of Governor Cuomo, we were able to make this holiday season that much brighter for our neighbors in need."
