On Saturday, April 28, Senator Cathy Young (R,C,I – Olean) and Assemblyman Andy Goodell celebrated with entrepreneurs Nicki and Kris Kane (left) and Mike and Marion Jordan (right) at the grand opening of 21 Brix Winery in Portland. The ceremony featured wine, hors d’oeuvres and live music played by SaxMan Slim.
The wine and grape industry has becoming a major economic force in New York State, with several vineyards throughout Senator Young’s district, including Chautauqua County. 21 Brix Winery, located on 6654 West Main Road, is one of Chautauqua-Lake Erie Wine Country’s newest additions. It recently won seven medals at the 2012 Pacific Rim Wine Competition in San Bernardino, Ca., including its first gold medal for the Lake Erie Brick House, which was earned for best white wine at the show.
A special toast to 21 Brix Winery for their investment in our region!
