Senator Cathy Young and Senator Pat Gallivan visit with Jane Oakes, owner of Jane’s Pantry at 84 Main Street in Mount Morris, during a walking tour of downtown. Jane, whose expertise in specialty foods makes her the “Queen of Licorice," carries a vast variety of New York State-produced, delicious food products in her shop. Mount Morris has become a destination for tourists and shoppers because of its restaurants and unique stores in the newly-restored historic downtown. The Senators, who passed legislation to leverage private sector investment for downtown revitalization that has grown small businesses and jobs in Livingston County and around the state, saw firsthand the positive results from their initiative. Congratulations to Jane and all of the downtown merchants!
