Joint Statement from State Senator Eric Adams and Councilman Jumaane Williams
Eric Adams
November 22, 2012
"Law enforcement has heard our plea, and we commend them for their swift and responsive action. This is a great example of what is possible when the NYPD engages in good coordinated police work. A suspect, Salvatore Perrone, has been identified, apprehended and charged with the murder of 3 Brooklyn shopkeepers of Middle Eastern descent. While nothing can replace the lives of Mohammed Gebeli, Isaac Kadare and Rahmatollah Vahidipour, hopefully some comfort will be gained knowing that this murderer is off our streets. Additionally, we plan to convene a meeting with retailers in the next couple of days to renew our call for the installation of surveillance cameras in their establishments."
