NYS SENATOR ERIC ADAMS AND MIXED MARTIAL ARTS EXPERTS USED ULTIMATE FIGHTING TECHNIQUES TO TEACH TROUBLED YOUTH ANTI-VIOLENCE TACTICS
NYS Senator Eric Adams held a press conference to announce the launching of the “Hope Academy,” a new non-profit organization that will teach at-risk youth how to use mixed martial arts skills to address violence. Senator Adams and various ultimate fighting trainers demonstrated some of the fighting techniques that will be used during the anti-violence pilot program.
Senator Adams stated, “I would have never thought that a contact sport such as mixed martial arts could also be used as a tool to discourage violence. I am amazed at the discipline and change of attitude that these at-risk youth have displayed after receiving this training.”
