Senator Adams' Statement re: Suspending Alternate Parking Until the Gas Shortage Has Ended
Eric Adams
November 4, 2012
Senator Adams’ statement:
“Mayor Bloomberg should suspend alternate side parking in NYC until the gasoline shortage has ended. As a result of Hurricane Sandy, many New Yorkers have experienced great hardships, including a limited supply of gasoline. Moving vehicles from side to side or double parking cars forces citizens to unnecessarily utilize the limited among of gas that they may have. Additionally, sanitation personnel can be more productively utilized to assist with cleanup efforts. We should be sensitive to the conditions faced by our fellow New Yorkers as they strive to put the pieces of their lives back together again."
